The Greatest Podcasts of All Time. To Me. At Least for Today.
I’m always searching for new ways to waste time. My latest endeavor has been into the world of podcasts. I’ve been in and out of podcasts for a long time, but due to some early, before the sun comes up, shifts at work. I’ve developed some consistency in my listening habits and I am happy to bring you my list of the greatest podcasts of all time. Actually it’s just what I’m listening to right now. All time seems a little much. Eh, what have I got to lose. Here's a list of the greatest podcasts of ALL TIME!*
*probably not of all time.
Two hilarious comedians reviewing chain restaurants…what is there not to like about listening to two hours of people talking about what they just had from Taco Bell? My best friend Chase turned me onto this podcast and for that I thank him. I have yet to encounter an episode I haven’t enjoyed listening to.
Favorite Episode- 23 Margaritaville with Mike Carlson
2. Preachers Not Preaching
I have one complaint about this podcast, and it’s that it’s far too short. Usually hovering around the 25-30 minute mark, this has been one of my favorite podcast since it started last November. Now I may be a little biased since one of the preachers was my wife’s youth pastor. And after meeting two of them this summer during a trip with Lauren to Orlando, we’re all kind of best friends. Ok…maybe not the last one but it’s a great panel of pastors hitting on some great topics you wouldn't hear them talk about on a Sunday.
Favorite Episode- 28 How Do You Personally Stay Strong
3. No Guitar is Safe
This summer I realized all of my musical knowledge revolved around the church. You could look at my recently played songs and guarantee that the last twenty songs were Elevation Worship. My Instagram feed, nothing but worship team guitar player’s pedal boards that all have the same six pedals. Discovering this podcast has revived the guitarist in me. If you don’t play guitar, it could possibly be the most boring podcast you could find. But as a guitarist, it is a must listen!
Favorite Episode- 24 Jared Scharff (SNL guitarist)
4. Elevation Church Podcast
I guess I should have put my own church’s podcast in this spot…Oh well. I enjoy listening to Pastor Steven Furtick. Sometimes having him yelling the Word, and preaching is better at waking me up in the morning than a cup of coffee.
Favorite Episode- Shutting the Door on Distraction
5. Beyond Sunday Worship Leader Podcast
I found this when a friend of mine told me about the episode with Chris Brown from Elevation Worship. That’s three Elevation Church references so far…I guess I have a crush on Elevation. This podcast has great “behind the scenes” sort of insight with some great worship leaders, musicians and writers.
Favorite Episode- 125 Jeffrey Kunde On Music Theory, Writing Parts, and Guitars in Worship
